Which skills are in demand, where the roles are, and what that means for your search. Based on the live index, updated with every new role.

The WorkWithUs index is not the whole job market, but it is a fair picture of the kind of work we curate: in-house brand and product teams, studios and agencies, from junior to director level. The charts on this page are calculated from all roles that are live right now, so they move as the market moves.

Reading the skills chart

Each role is counted under the skills it lists, so a role for a brand and motion designer counts for both. In autumn 2026, brand and product design were the largest groups by far. Many brand roles are at tech companies that are evolving their identity, building templates and guidelines, and designing launches; many product roles ask for interaction and visual skills in one person.

Watch the smaller bars too. Motion, 3D and illustration rarely have many roles of their own, but they show up inside brand and product roles again and again. If you can show motion, even in a few short clips, it is worth making it visible in your portfolio.

Where the roles are

The countries chart shows where the live roles are. In autumn 2026 the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom led, with a long tail across Europe; in the US most roles were in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area, in Germany most were in Berlin. Hybrid was the most frequent work mode, and fully remote roles were mostly at software companies.

Senior is the norm, junior is rare

Most roles with a stated level are senior or higher. That is partly how companies hire: they post the roles they find hard to fill, while junior hiring often happens through internships, referrals and graduate programmes. If you are early in your career, do not rely on public postings alone and write to studios directly.

What this means for your search

• Set a filter for your city and skill in the index and check back twice a week: good roles are often gone within a few weeks.
• If you are a brand designer, look at tech and AI companies: they hire for identity work again and again.
• Show motion if you can do it.
